OUR PLANTING PROCESS
Planting is a critical step in the landscaping process. Plants often have very specific site requirements, needing the right combination of sunlight, drainage, soil chemistry, nutrients, and water.
There are also other issues to consider, including the effect of the plant on your overall landscape design and how the fully grown plant might affect garden features like ponds, paths, or patios. Ideal landscapes uses a very methodical approach to ensure that all of these factors are considered. Here is a little more information on our process:
1. CONSULTATION
Our landscapers work closely with clients to turn their vision and into a reality. We will gather some information about the types of plants you would like to use and where they will be planted. If you are unsure about the types of plants that are suitable for a specific area, we are more than happy to provide suggestions.
2. SITE PREPARATION
On the day of the planting, we’ll begin with some site preparation. We will mark out plant positions, before clearing or grading the planting area if necessary. We’ll then excavate the locations where plants will be added.
3. PLANTING
Our team will unload your new plants and situate them in their respective locations. A quick visual inspection will be performed to ensure they are correctly located and that there are no unforeseen issues which need to be addressed. We’ll then place the plants in their holes and add soil.
4. FINAL TOUCHES
We will install any necessary anchoring and irrigation systems if required. Ideal Landscapes can also backfill the planting area with a combination of high quality topsoil, compost, and slow release fertiliser. We will ensure that your new plants have everything they need to succeed.
5. SITE CLEANUP
We can remove any excess soil, green waste, or rubbish from the site, if necessary.
5. CUSTOMER SUPPORT
