2. QUOTATION

3. SITE PREPARATION

4. TARMAC APPLICATION
With the sub-base graded and compacted, we begin laying the tarmac itself. First down is the binder course — a coarser mix of aggregate and bitumen that bonds to the sub-base and provides structural depth. On top of that goes the wearing course: a finer, smoother layer of surface asphalt made from smaller aggregate, sand, and bitumen.
We take particular care where the tarmac meets other surfaces — installing neat butt joints and checking that grading directs water towards drainage points rather than against walls or neighbouring properties. The entire surface is then rolled and compacted to remove any irregularities, leaving you with a uniform, level finish.
5. COMPLETION
After the tarmac has been laid, we carry out a full site clean-up — removing all equipment, waste, and debris. Our project manager then inspects the driveway against our quality standards before handing it over to you for your own walk-through. We won’t sign off on a job until you’re satisfied with the result.
The curing process typically takes 24 to 48 hours depending on weather conditions. During that time, you’ll need to avoid driving or parking on the surface. Once cured, the driveway is ready for normal use.
